Dr. Andrew Dunn
Andrew graduated from Murdoch University in 1979. He spent time in mixed veterinary practice in Narrogin in Western Australia before heading up to the Gulf of Carpentaria where he spent three years as a veterinarian on cattle stations for Stanbroke Pastoral Company. He then worked for two years in a predominately dairy cattle practice at Simpson in Western Victoria. From 1986 to 1989 Andrew worked at Morwell in the practice that was then owned by his class mate Dr Bill Darmody. The next three years were spent doing locum work in the Atherton Tablelands and in Perth, interspersed with sailing trips on Tall Ships and racing in the Fremantle to Bali yacht race. He returned to Moe in 1992 to become a partner in the business with Dr Bill Darmody and he became the sole owner when Bill retired from practice in 2001. As of 1st February 2019, Dr Andrew Dunn sold the business of Moe Veterinary Centre to Dr Laura Thorbecke and Dr Stuart Cocking. Andrew will continue to work at Moe Veterinary Centre and looks foward to being an integral employee of the new business.
Andrew has gained his Membership (Radiology) of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and in 2006 was selected as Australia’s Small Animal Practitioner of the Year. His recreational pursuits include scuba diving and bushwalking. In 1997 he cycled across the Himalayas from Lhasa to Kathmandu and then spent four months cycling through Europe. He lives in Tanjil South with his wife Grania and daughter Rachael and “Lucy”, the faithful Golden Retriever.
